Meet David
David started Wright Law Office in 1995 and has practiced law for 27 years. He was called to the Bar in Alberta in 1990 and called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1994.
He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction from the University of Victoria in 1985. During this time he traveled extensively to several countries in Europe and studied British Politics at the University of Warwick in England.
In 1989, David obtained his Bachelor of Law and his Masters of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He has completed certification courses in mediation, interest based negotiation skills and collaborative law and also attends law society courses each year.
David practices in the areas of family law, wills and estates and real estate. He believes in attempting to negotiate reasonable resolutions to disputes and keeping clients fully informed about the cost benefit analysis of litigation. He utilizes mediation and arbitration to resolve disputes when possible. He has appeared regularly before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and has also appeared before administrative tribunals and the Court of Appeal of Alberta.
David played for the Calgary Colts Junior Football Club for three years and played hockey for 40 years. He was also active in community sports coaching soccer and hockey for approximately 10 years.
He has served as a Director and President on condominium boards and a community assistance organization. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, golfing, traveling, boating and walking with his dog Maddie.
